Tidbit Tuesday - Frugal Living

Hi, it's Kate here and I'd like to introduce you to a good friend of mine, Jenn Fowler, who's been blogging about frugal living since 2006. I don't know about you, but when I hear the word "frugal" I think about doing without something. That is not what Jenn is about at all. She is all about doing little things to save money while maintaining or improving your standard of living. And who wouldn't like to save a little money? Her posts range from making breadcrumbs to making laundry soap to packing cheap and nutritious (and yummy) school lunches. You can check it all out at her blog, Frugal Upstate. Just think of all the extra digiscrapping goodness you can get with the money you save by adding a few frugal habits. If you have any frugal tips, we'd love to hear them. Until next time, happy scrapping!

August's Monthly Challenge

Hey all! It's Kristin again with your monthly challenge. For me, August is a time to be thinking about heading back to school. We start insanely early here- I head back on the 11th and the kiddos follow on the 13th of this month.

So, August's challenge is to scrap a layout dedicated to school. Be creative! If you don't have a kid heading off to school or they won't be until next month, scrap about when you were in school. Or about your favorite school supplies. :) (I *heart* school supplies, btw.) Or your favorite teacher. You get the picture.

Jennifer, along with Meghan Mullens, has a fabulous kit to help you along with this month's challenge.

Once you've created your layout, upload it to a gallery and comment with a link so that we can see! One lucky winner will be randomly chosen and will win a $5 gift certificate to Jennifer Fox Designs.

Oh, and I almost forgot! Kat was our winner for July's monthly challenge! Email Jennifer at jenniferfoxdesigns@yahoo.com for your $5 gift certificate! Congrats!

Guess where Jennifer is now!

Hi everyone. Kiki here with some great news for you. I'm so happy to announce that Jennifer is the newest guest designer at Funky Playground Designs! She's released a new product there that you'll love because it just really gets the mojo for scrapping flowing again.

You know how toward the end of the summer you have great pictures of picnics, family time, beach pictures, pool pictures, etc. but you just don't have the time to scrap them? Why not use Jennifer's templates to help speed you along and get those memories scrapped while they are fresh in your mind. These are perfect for quickly getting those pics onto layouts!

Three's a Charm, the latest in the Scraps to Go series is perfect for getting a jump start on your summer layouts. I love how her layouts have lots of variety and journalling prompts if you need them, and if you don't the page is still well balanced and makes great use of white space.

Keep your eyes on her store there this month for some great new products. I know I'm looking forward to see what she releases during her guest stint.

Have a great day everyone, and have fun scrapping your memories!
